Look! Another mani….. from a month ago…..
It’s still cold as balls in Portland, so snow manis still count! I originally did this for a nail art contest Color Club was having last month, and it’s just been sitting in my iPhoto since. Oops.
Colors Used:
Essence- I Love Bad Boys
Color Club- Jingle Jangle
Sally Hansen- White On
‘Huntin’ humans ain’t nothin’ but nothin’. They all run like scared little rabbits. Run, rabbit, run. Run, rabbit. Run, rabbit. Run rabbit. Run, rabbit, run! RUN, RABBIT, RUN!’
Bundle Monster is having a nail art contest with the theme of ‘Fright Night’. So of course I submitted something (shocker). The rules were to use stamping somewhere in the design, but I didn’t want it to necessarily be the focal point. I wanted to do something a bit different and a bit more fun. Let’s freehand Otis B. Driftwood! I mean, what’s more frightening than Otis B. Driftwood?
Y’all should help a girl out by voting me into the top ten.

This definitely wasn’t what I had in mind when I started painting my nails, but it is how it ended. I wanted to use a couple of my new polishes and Essence’s LOL (which is one of those ugly-pretty colors) just would not get out of my head, same for Sinful Colors Rain Storm. I wanted to do some V gaps, but it just wasn’t working out. I was planning on doing zebra print with leopard accents and somewhere down the line they switched. It’s reversed on my left hand, which was a fail, hence a picture of my right hand instead. Yeah….
Colors Used:
Essence- LOL
Sinful Colors- Rain Storm
OPI- Number One Nemesis
Avatar series part three: Earth.
When I was coming up with this mani, I had a horrible time. I mean, what does one do to represent Earthbending? The only idea that came to me was recreating the layers of the Earth’s crust. To be honest, I don’t love them, but I definitely don’t hate them. They kind of have an ugly pretty quality to them.

Teppie asked me forever ago to do some Avatar Element nails and I’m finally getting around to doing them. Warrior Sokka was unofficially part one in my Avatar series, and today I’m showing you part two, Water. I used Mr. Candiipants waves tutorial since I loved it and Candice is awesome.

Vacation, here I come! Today, I’m leaving for vacation for the next three weeks, which means the only thing I’m going to have on my nails, outside of these, will be my base coat and crackle/shatter polish. There’s no way I’m going to waste my luggage space and precious time in the UK painting my nails. Don’t fret, I have a queue of nails, including a little Avatar: The Last Airbender elements spam, just waiting to post starting on Tuesday.

Just playing around with the ‘it’ color of the year: Tangerine. Of course, both these colors don’t like being photograph accurately, but they’re fabulous. The second photo is more color accurate. I love how Choose Me went from a blue teal to a green teal when it was layered over the orange. I used my spanking new stripping tape to tape off the V gaps.
Colors Ued:
Sinful Colors- Citrine, Nail Junkie (original)
Essence- Choose Me

Let’s get down to business! To defeat Amon!
Just because it’s LoK’s season finale tomorrow, doesn’t mean I’m going to have Korra related nails. Nope. I love Sokka too much to not dedicate a mani to him and his trusty boomerang.

I cannot for the life of me remember what the brand is called, but there is a stand of about 6/7 different colors of magnetic polishes for $5 each and I think there were only two kinds of magnets to choose from for each color, straight lines and a starburst. I might go back sometime this week, or the nest and get the purple one and possibly swatch it for people.
The Fred’s off of Broadway has a bucket of Layla magnetic nail polish on clearance for $4, originally $16(!!!!). I just bought Black Metal, Golden Bronze, and Metallic Sky. There were 3 other colors there as well. AND Fred’s also has new Essence nail polish, including new cremes, shimmers and glitters in their To Go collection, their magnetic polishes, crackles, and other special top coats, including their soft/matte top coat.
