This weekends mani brought yo you by Pshiiit.
So, I have some good news and some bad. The good news is that I gots me a job! The bad news, I work with chocolate so I can’t wear nail polish (even though we wear gloves the entire time).
So if you thought that I posted far and few between before, it’s going to be even worse now. I’ve been reduced to only painting my nails from Friday afternoon to Sunday night. I think I’ll survive. I think.

I was definitely inspired by Sam’s disco squares with this mani. Her’s were so darn cute that I couldn’t not recreate it. But instead of cute Springy colors, I went with Fall colors since it’s till Fall. I felt obligated to do one last Fall mani before fulling jumping into the Chrsitmas manis. The combination of colors reminds me of kitchen background tiling like so. The red based colors decided to smear on me, even after I let them dry for 10 minutes. :(

Yay for Ulta having their ‘buy 2 OPIs, get a free base or top coat’ and ‘$5 off a purchase of $10 or more’ coupons, because this bad boy along with The Living Daylights and a new base coat came home with me. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is *gorgeous*. The base is a chameleon ranging from a dark slate grey to a blue under certain lighting. There’s finely milled silver, blue, pink, magenta, and gold shimmer throughout it. It’s on the watery side, but it’s not horrible and I’ve shown it with 4 coats.

So, I finally made myself a light box. Now when I say a light box, I really mean this:
I’m too lazy to make a real light box. That’s how I roll. But, hey, I can now take pictures in my room at night instead of using the overhead light in the bathroom. It’ll work wonderfully in the coming weeks when the sun decides to play hide and seek with us Portlanders.

Avatar series part three: Earth.
When I was coming up with this mani, I had a horrible time. I mean, what does one do to represent Earthbending? The only idea that came to me was recreating the layers of the Earth’s crust. To be honest, I don’t love them, but I definitely don’t hate them. They kind of have an ugly pretty quality to them.

Just playing around with the ‘it’ color of the year: Tangerine. Of course, both these colors don’t like being photograph accurately, but they’re fabulous. The second photo is more color accurate. I love how Choose Me went from a blue teal to a green teal when it was layered over the orange. I used my spanking new stripping tape to tape off the V gaps.

Rainbow Brite.
In typical neon fashion, these are a lot brighter in person than in the pictures. For the zig zags, I used a pair of my Mom’s scrapbook scissors with a zig zag blade. It helps to use blue painters tape when using those kinds of scissors because they are thicker and won’t tear when you’re trying to cut a thin piece.
